Lightspeed DMS pricing (2026): what it costs and what to ask

By Mason Bennett, boat dealership GM. Published Oct 20, 2026. Prices checked Oct 20, 2026.

Lightspeed publishes a range, not a price list. Here's what's on their page, what sits outside that range, and what I'd ask before signing. Everything below links to its source. Checked Oct 20, 2026.

Short answer

  • Lightspeed's pricing page says its pricing scales "from $450 to $3,000+ per month based on the size and complexity of your operation." Source
  • That page doesn't list module prices, setup or training fees, or contract terms. You get those in a quote.
  • Connecting outside tools through Lightspeed's Third Party Access (3PA) program carries "a one-time setup fee and a monthly charge for each data set per store." Lightspeed's documentation doesn't give the amounts. Source

What Lightspeed says moves the price

Lightspeed calls its pricing modular. On the low end its page describes "a lean, core DMS to manage inventory and sales." On the high end, "a fully integrated powerhouse with advanced CRM, multi-store accounting, and automated service scheduling." Its own example: a single-location golf cart dealer has different needs than a multi-state RV enterprise. (Lightspeed pricing page)

So expect the number to move with three things: which modules you take, how many stores you run, and how much CRM, accounting and service scheduling you want inside the DMS.

The same page says Lightspeed has 4.5K+ dealerships, 40+ years in business and 550+ integration partners. Those are the vendor's numbers.

Costs that sit outside the monthly range

3PA integration fees

If your website, CRM, texting tool or lead response tool needs data out of Lightspeed, it usually goes through 3PA. Lightspeed's own setup guide says a dealer enables it from the Stores screen, and that "there is a one-time setup fee and a monthly charge for each data set per store." (Lightspeed data docs)

Lightspeed doesn't publish the amounts. Here's what's been reported. None of it is verified, and none of it comes from Lightspeed.

Who pays the integration fee

Some vendors pass DMS fees through to the dealer. Kimoby's pricing page says "DMS integration fees depend on your DMS provider." (Kimoby pricing) Alpha Drive AI's Oct. 14, 2026 release on its new marine AI BDC says direct DMS integration comes "with a one-time integration fee." (Alpha Drive AI release)

Ask every vendor in your stack whether they pass a Lightspeed fee through, and how much.

Something that's already included

Dealer Spike says its new real-time inventory sync with Lightspeed is rolling out "automatically at no additional cost" to Lightspeed dealers who already have a parts and unit inventory 3PA key. (Dealer Spike, Sept. 22, 2026) If you already pay for that key, find out what else rides on it before paying for a second one.

Contract terms

Lightspeed's pricing page doesn't state a contract length. One Capterra reviewer, a service director at an automotive business, wrote on July 7, 2026 that when they asked to cancel they were told they had "a 60 month contract and it would be 70% of the total due to cancel." That's one review. We can't verify it, and it isn't a marine dealer. But it's the clause to read before you sign. (Capterra Lightspeed reviews)

How Lightspeed compares with other DMS vendors

3 of the 13 vendors listed under DMS in our directory publish a price on their own site. Prices are quoted exactly as published, with the date checked. Sources are on each vendor profile.

Questions to ask on a Lightspeed quote

  1. Modules. Which modules are in the monthly number? What does each add-on cost if I add it next year?
  2. One-time fees. Setup, data migration and training. Is any of it free, and does training expire if the data conversion runs late?
  3. Contract. Term length, renewal increases and the cost to leave early. Get it in writing.
  4. Stores and users. What changes when I add a location or a salesperson?
  5. 3PA. List every outside tool you run today: website, CRM, texting, lead response, lenders. For each one, which data sets does it need, what's the setup fee and monthly fee per store, and who pays it?
  6. Payments. Does the price assume I process payments through Lightspeed? What are the rates if I do, and what changes if I don't?
  7. Leaving. If we switch DMS later, what data export do we get, in what format, and what does it cost?

My take

The $450 to $3,000+ range is useful. It's more than most DMS vendors publish. But it isn't the bill. The bill is the monthly number, plus every integration, plus whatever your contract says it costs to leave. Get all three in writing before you sign anything.

If you're on Lightspeed and willing to share what you actually pay for 3PA, send it in. I'll publish it anonymously, labeled as one dealer's report.
